Okay, when I was deciding on my next topic [with help from Mr. Amin ;)] I thought it would be okay to bring in some arguments against reincarnation. Now, we got to talking and we thought about a couple of arguments but they didn’t seem sound enough. Fortunately for me, my homepage is the Google search engine but when I typed the words “arguments against reincarnation” and clicked the first link, I did NOT expect to get a dose of CRAZY shoved into my face.
Here is the link to pure insanity: http://www.allaboutspirituality.org/arguments-against-reincarnation-faq.htm
Listen, people. If ever you wish to discredit something, never, ever, EVER refer to Religion especially when all you have to say is: “because God wanted it that way”. If the world worked that way, I would have passed every Math exam I ever did.
I was hoping I would get a real challenge but instead all I got was Jesus-whipped by some crazy motherfrigger whose writing style strangely resembles Carrie White’s mother:
For those of you who did not care to click the link, allow me to show you some of the things that Mr./Mrs. OD-on-Bible-quotes said:
“There are many arguments against reincarnation. There is simply no way to prove that the “past life experiences” that these people talk about are in fact true and not simply the developments of an active imagination. From a strictly logical viewpoint, since no one has ever died and come back to life (except our Lord, Jesus Christ) there is no empirical proof of the claims of those who say they have been reincarnated into this day and age.”
Okay…who else shat brix when reading “except our Lord, Jesus Christ”? Look, I’m really not trying to diss religion. I’m not an atheist myself. I do believe in God but the only difference between me and Bible with Legs here is that I’m not smothering my God with extremist flattery and I certainly don’t attempt at making anybody convert and believe in reincarnation. I simply explain my beliefs and leave it up to others to decide for themselves. This is the problem with most extremists; they believe anyone who does not share their beliefs is a sinner as shown by this next paragraph:
“We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, “Jesus is Lord,” you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.”
Okay, seriously? This is just wrong. Someone, please tell me you see what’s at fault here. Because Mr. Amin and I are are extremely awesome people, we’re willing to share with you the conversation we had when I stumbled across the Bible Quoting Maniac:
My only piece of advice, folks? If you’re trying to disprove a theory, make sure to tuck your Bible away and put your sanity on the table and NOT on the line.
but is this really the best article you could find? there weren’t any more sound arguments??
Check out the latest post, Brando. <=] I managed to find some.
